Born in Scotland, Gerard Butler made his theatre début. After seven years spent studying law, Gerard returned to his true passion, theatre. In 1996, he won the lead role in the theatre adaptation of Trainspotting, and would go on to tread the boards in a number of other productions.
In 1997 he appeared on the big screen for the first time in John Madden’s drama, Her Majesty, Mrs Brown.
Gerard Butler would then appear in a number of films, with notable examples including Timeline; Tomb Raider 2; Dear Frankie; and Phantom of the Opera, but his career truly sky-rocketed thanks to the role of King Leonidas in Zack Snyder’s blockbuster, 300.
Since then, notable roles have included appearing alongside Hilary Swank in the drama, P.S. I Love You, and in Guy Ritchie’s Rocknrolla.
Gerard Butler recently starred alongside Katherine Heigl in Robert Luketic’s romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth. He also starred in the thriller, Gamer, and starred alongside Jamie Fox in Law Abiding Citizen. Gerard also voiced part the lead role of Stoick in the hugely successful animated film, How To Train Your Dragon.
He will soon be appearing under the direction of Ralph Fiennes in the film Corioloanus, and in Marc Forster’s Machine Gun Preacher.

Yes, Claire. It was taken a few months ago when he was in Paris. There were rumors at the time that he was shooting some sort of ad campaign. He does look younger clean shaven! Shows off his dimples!

Dang. He sure does look younger. I love him any way he comes but dang he sure looks fine. I like the scruff in some pics if it doesn’t look as if he’s had a week long binge. Who am I kidding, I’d still chain him to my bedpost if I could.
Wow. He just looks amazing. I can’t believe this was taken this year. Go him for looking all fresh faced and such. Haha
This is how he looked a lot of the time when doing PR for Phantom, so this look is familiar to me. I love him in all his different looks. The fact that his are so changeable make it easy to morph into a variety of characters. But this clean shaven look is drool worthy!
