To all my friends, Chanson fans, and family: I will be making a very exciting announcement in just a few short days! No, it is not the release date for my novel (however that is coming). It’s something even more exciting than that! Stay Tuned!More

Greetings fans and friends, as we wait for the publication and release of my completed 3 volume series, I thought I would discuss the future of the Chanson CD-which is STILL in pre-production. It has taken much longer than we expected to coordinate the various artists who have been invited to contribute their talents to our project. In addition, Nathan works a full time job, so his time has been limited. Within the next month or so he will be moving himself and his studio to a new location here in town, but he assures me that he will begin work on the CD again once he gets settled.
The video I posted above is from Toni Gibson’s first official live concert! I hope you will join me in congratulating her in her achievements as she maps out what I am certain will be a fabulous career! As I have mentioned before, Toni has already recorded The Bleeding Rose for the Chanson CD and we are currently waiting for Nathan to compose and distribute the violin part to our guest violinist. People have been asking me for a sneak peek of Toni’s recording of The Bleeding Rose, and I will say that if Nathan doesn’t get that violin part written by the end of Summer, I may decide to release the song without it. Meanwhile, Nathan is working with Michele Karmin, another guest artist on the CD, who will be recording Firelight Through Diamonds. Michele is set to go into the studio soon, and by September we should have her recording ready to release as the first single off the album. I am now setting the release for the Chanson CD for Christmas of this year!
Please share Toni’s video with all your Phantomy friends-and keep an eye on this site for more updates!
Greetings fans and friends! I just wanted to post a quick update on the publication progress of Chanson de l’Ange~Book Two. As you all know, Book One was published last June by Xlibris, a ‘Print On Demand’ company. Over the past year I have been working on revising Book Two for publication through Xlibris, well, that was the plan….
However, I am now pleased to announce that I have been picked up by a small but rapidly expanding traditional publisher! For the time being, Book One will remain under the Xlibris banner as I finish up revisions for Book Two, then Book Two~The Angel’s Song will be published by my new publisher.
The new plan is to release Book Two in just a few months, and then after Book Two has had a chance to take hold in the market, I will re release Book One with my new publisher and close my Xlibris account! If it sounds a bit complicated…it is, but my new publisher assures me that it can be done. For the time being, Book One will be still be sold through all the on-line sources where it is now listed and I do not foresee any disruption in its availability to the public during the coming transition.
Treasureline Publishing is my new publisher, and just as soon as info for Chanson de l’Ange has been added to their ‘shelves’ I will post a link here. I am very excited to be working with a company that has created a family atmosphere with their authors.
Meanwhile, my beta and I are currently down to the last few chapters of edits on Book Two, and I do believe I will be submitting the manuscript in a month or so!
In addition to this exciting news, Nathan has now begun work on the orchestrations for my song The Bleeding Rose, to be recorded by the lovely young soprano Toni Gibson. We are so thrilled that the CD is finally coming together, and with some exciting new artists to showcase! If you would like to follow our progress on the Chanson CD, check out this link where you can meet our guests artists, and where I will be posting updates as work on the CD goes forward.
ATTENTION ASPIRING VOCALISTS!
I’m looking for a young female Classical/Crossover artist in a Mezzo to Soprano range (late teens-early 20′s) to record one song for a CD of all original music.. The CD we are creating is a soundtrack for my Phantom of the Opera based novel, Chanson de l’Ange, and the song you would be recording is called The Bleeding Rose; an original piece with words and melody written by me, and the orchestral accompaniment composed by my son. There are no royalties involved but I am able to pay a small one time up-front fee. If that’s something you’d be interested in, may I suggest that you check out some of our music here: Chanson de l’Ange Music
We need someone who can record using their own equipment, and then work back and forth with my son on production via internet and digital files.
The Bleeding Rose will have a classical flavor with a few gypsy influenced instruments; Spanish guitar, accordion, gypsy violin. It is a highly romantic and hauntingly beautiful art song.
The entire CD will feature all original music, both vocal and instrumental. We have another song that is being recorded by an up and coming pop/R&B singer; a guest violinist, and one vocal sung by me.
We will be marketing the CD through my website and Cdbaby, and it will receive exposure primarily through Phantom of the Opera, book readers, and theater communities.
If you are interested or know of someone who might be, please contact me through the CONTACT ME link top of the page!
Greetings fans and friends! How are you all doing? Getting ready for the holidays? Most of my decorations are up, but I still have a few more special touches to add before the night of our Christmas party. Yes, despite a truly miserable year with respect to illness and other personal difficulties, we have decided to celebrate this special season with our friends and family. 2010 has been tough for our family, but when I look at all the blessings we have received even in the midst of our trials, I must throw off the negative “why mes” and enjoy the sites, the smells, and the sounds of Christmas! To usher in the Christmas season, I am sharing with you Jackie Evancho’s first music video! For those of you who have not yet purchased Jackie’s EP Christmas CD, you will find her Amazon link on my left side bar. If you love traditional Christmas music, you will enjoy Jackie’s inspirational performance of these songs. FYI: This CD just went Platinum!
What is your favorite Christmas music? As a former choir member, I prefer the beautiful choir and orchestral offerings, but I also enjoy Celtic arrangements, and even some Harry Connic Jr. to mix things up a bit. My Christmas play list is filled with enough tracks for 5 days of continuous music! Recent favorites are Andrea Bocelli’s new Christmas CD, and of course, Jackie’s O Holy Night. If you haven’t heard The Cambridge Singers, you should check them out too. I have a total of 5 of their Christmas CDs and listen to them every year without fail. What I love about their albums is that although they do sing all the favorites, there are many songs that are less familiar. Some of these songs simply take my breath away, not only because of the gorgeous voices and exquisite orchestrations, but also because of their poetic beauty and Christ centered message. On any December night, you will find me sitting in my living room with the candles lit, the tree sparkling, and the Cambridge singers bringing tears to my eyes.
However you chose to celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year,” Enjoy!
